Carbon neutral operations and subsea engineering investment
We are a certified Carbon Neutral Business. From reducing offshore emissions to sponsoring the MATE ROV competition, we actively invest in the future.
Certified. Measurable.
Built in from the start.
We became a carbon neutral business in 2025. Everything that sits behind that begins with our purpose-built eco-friendly headquarters. Plus, we achieved ISO 14001 certification in 2023 with an A+ environmental efficiency rating.
Our HQ’s environmental credentials
Operations and the environment
Smaller vessels, reduced fuel consumption, fewer personnel movements offshore all contribute, both for Film-Ocean’s own operations and the clients we work with.
The Remote Operations Centre (ROC) at our Aberdeenshire facility enhances that further
Clients can monitor and manage inspection operations from onshore
Reduces the number of personnel deployed offshore
Minimise travel and associated carbon impact of inspection programmes
Investing in future talent
Supporting the future of the offshore industry means investing in the people who will shape it.
Film-Ocean consistently supports STEM and engineering initiatives that inspire the next generation of subsea professionals, including sponsorship of the MATE ROV Scotland Regional competition. Hosted annually at Robert Gordon University, the competition challenges students to design, build and pilot their own underwater robots in real-world engineering scenarios.
Our support extends beyond sponsorship. In 2026, we opened our deepwater test tank facility to competing teams, while members of our technical team volunteered as judges, mentors and technical supporters.
